About

Hi, I'm Dan. I built PicStashio.

PicStashio is a guest photo gallery for weddings and events. Guests scan a code and upload photos and videos, with no app to install and no account to make.

Why it matters

The best photos of the day are on a hundred different phones.

Your photographer gets the portraits and the first kiss. Your guests get everything else: the table that wouldn't stop laughing, the dance floor at midnight, your grandmother's face during the toast.

Most of those photos never make it to you. PicStashio gives every guest one obvious place to put them, with nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. Afterward, you download the archive at full quality and keep it.

How it started

It started at my brother's wedding.

In March 2024 my brother got married in Maui. My sister-in-law plans weddings for a living, and she'd paid good money for a QR photo-sharing app so guests could share what they took.

It got the job done. Nothing broke, and the photos got collected. But it felt dated and unintuitive, and I couldn't stop noticing. I'd already built a photo-sharing app of my own, and I knew I could do better.

PicStashio is the result. It's new, and I'm building it in the open. The name says what it does: a stash for your pics.

Who's behind it

You'll talk to the person who built it.

I've been a professional software engineer since 2017. PicStashio is a one-person company: I write the code, answer the support email, and decide what gets built next.

If something's wrong with your stash, you're emailing the person who can fix it.

When I'm not working on it, I'm usually outdoors with my wife and our two daughters, and in winter that means skiing.

What it runs on

Where your photos actually live.

Not on a server in my basement. Your photos and payments run on the same proven infrastructure that much bigger companies trust.

Stored on Google Cloud

Photos and videos live on Google Cloud through Firebase, encrypted in transit and at rest. It's the same platform much larger companies run on.

Payments through Stripe

Checkout is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. PicStashio never stores your card details.

The full list of services and how your data is handled is in the privacy policy.

How I run it

No subscriptions. No surprises.

One price, paid once

Snack is free. Feast is $49, one time. No subscription, no card on file, nothing to cancel.

Compare the plans

No upsells

No prints, no albums, no partner storefront. Nobody tries to sell you anything after the wedding.

Your files are yours

Download the archive at full quality and keep it for good. Feast includes every upload; Snack includes your first 75.

Limits, said up front

A 1-year upload window from your activation date, not forever hosting. No app, so no push notifications. Better you know now.

What happens after the year

Built for weddings. Works for any gathering.

A stash works the same way for every event, at the same price: weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, birthdays, reunions, graduations, retirement parties, and memorials.

The company

PicStashio is made by Event Photo Share Inc., a Colorado corporation.
